Established in 2000, the American Martial Arts Association of the Deaf (AMAAD) creates opportunities for martial artists to compete with their peers and larger society of martial artists at local, national and international levels. The goals of AMAAD are to foster an environment of equality and respect, and promote recreational opportunities where deaf and hard of hearing martial artists can benefit physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
